  • About Kwari
    What Is Kwari?
Kwari is a free-to-download first-person shooter that has been designed with one purpose in mind; to give you the opportunity to translate your shooter skills into serious real-world cash. There are many ways to make money by playing Kwari and best of all, all of the money in the game belongs to you the players.

How does money work in Kwari?
When you play Kwari you choose a stake level to play in. This represents the amount of money each health point is worth. Every time you hit someone, you take money from them. Consequently, each time you are hit money is taken from you. On top of this you have other ways to win, such as Jackpots and The Pill. Money for these prizes is generated by players buying Weapons and Pickups, smashing crates or by taking damage from Traps.

    How does Kwari make money?
The only time we ask for money from you is when you buy the Ammunition to play. All of the money put into the game by the players, can be won by the players. K$5 buys you 5,000 rounds of Ammunition. Consider us your virtual arms dealer.

Can I play for free to see how it all works?
Absolutely. When you load up Kwari you will see that you can "JOIN REAL MATCH" or "PLAY FOR FREE". Exactly the same rules apply in a free match, only here all money is simulated. Play For Free is a great place to practice.

    Legal
    Is Kwari gambling?
No, Kwari is a skill-based game and has been developed to ensure at all stages that success is generated by the ability of the player rather than luck. Everything, from the exchange of cash due to shooting another opponent, to gaining the main map prize associated with the Pill, to winning a key jackpot is down to the skill of the individual player. Nothing is decided through chance, it is the actions of the players in the game that dictate exactly who wins and how much.
Players are also balanced in terms of their ability in the game to ensure that at no point should you ever be in a situation where you face someone who will dominate the entire match. As such every game of Kwari you play will see you on an equal footing to your opponents, it comes down to your skills, tactics and decisions you make as to whether you come out ahead or not.

Can I play in my current location?
Kwari is currently only hosted in the UK. You should be able to play if you are in Europe but the ping-time for the US is likely to be too much.

If you are in the US, please email us to give us some idea of the demand. We will be opening in the US later in 2014

Do I need to pay tax on my winnings?
Any money made through Kwari will be subject to the laws of your own country regarding taxable capital gains. In the case of large winnings tax will not be deducted by Kwari. It will be the responsibility of individual players to ensure they are abiding by their national taxation rules.

Is there an age limit to play Kwari?
Well, sort of. Kwari is a game about earning money and there are mild profanities in the game. You will also need a PayPal account to play for real money and their age limit is 18 but you can sign up and play for free at any age but we'd suggest you need to be a teenager at least

    Ammunition
    Where can I buy Ammunition?
The only place to buy Ammunition for use in Kwari is in the game itself. After successfully logging in you will be presented with the main Kwari lobby area. Hit the "BUY AMMUNITION" button to buy Ammunition. You can also press "Ctrl-P" to buy Ammunition during a match. The cost is deducted from your Bankroll.

What happens if I run out of Ammunition during a match?
When you start to run low on Ammunition you will get a warning on screen, at this point you can either choose to buy new Ammunition (by pressing "Ctrl-P") or take your chances. There's nothing to stop you playing, indeed it is possible that you could collect Pill money without Ammunition.

How long will my Ammunition last?
This can vary greatly depending on your playing style. Those who choose to spend their time looking for Jackpot Keys, for example, might not use more than 250 rounds of Ammunition in a single match. On the other hand, if you are the kind of player who likes to make their money from firefights you might be using upwards of 500 rounds of Ammunition in each match. The more you play the more you will start to get a feel for how long each batch of Ammunition will last.

    Accounts
    What is K$1 worth?
When you pay money into Kwari you are buying the in-game currency, "Kwari Dollars". Kwari Dollars are worth about the same as a US Dollar but the exact amount will depend on exchange rates.

Why do I have three accounts?
Kwari gives you three accounts to help you control your in-game money:

    1. Bankroll
Your Bankroll is your central account. Any money you pay into the game will be added here. Your Bankroll is not touched by the game unless you authorise it. Any Jackpots you win automatically deposit into your Bankroll.

    2. Game Account
This sits with you in game and collects all winnings. Any charges for pickups, traps and so on deducted from this account. Each game has a minimum Game Account balance requirement in order for you to be eligible to play.

    3. Ammunition
Your Ammunition account shows how many rounds of ammo you have remaining. Ammo purchases are charged to your Bankroll and can be made at any time during play (by pressing "Ctrl-P") or in the lobby.

How do I transfer money between accounts?

Here you can select from one of two transfer types: "BANKROLL TO GAME BALANCE" or "GAME BALANCE TO BANKROLL" Enter the amount you wish to transfer and click "MAKE TRANSFER". Should you wish to cancel the transfer you can select "RETURN TO PREVIOUS" at any point.

    Security
What's to stop people cheating at Kwari?
Kwari has been designed to make cheating as difficult as possible, by incorporating many elements of the game on the server side rather than the client.

There are several mechanisms in place to ensure that no malicious third party programs are running, such as key loggers or trojans that may be looking to steal your personal information. BigWorld also utilizes a complex data system that does away with many of the issues that are seen in similar games, such as wall hacking.

Meanwhile, all the data flowing between the game and the Kwari data centre will be compiled, analysed and interpreted by a team of Game Masters whose sole responsibility it will be to ensure that any anomalous behaviour or performance by players is flagged and followed up with further investigation. Every single action that a player can take in a match can quickly and easily be verified on the server and appropriate action be taken.

Any player found to be cheating in Kwari will be firmly dealt with. If you have reason to believe someone is cheating please report it immediately at www.kwari.com/support.

Is my money safe with Kwari?
Absolutely, we have numerous safeguards in place to protect both you and your money. Everything from the account systems on the Kwari website to the password tumblers in the game have been designed with your safety and security in mind.

    How is player privacy handled?
We have created a number of features to ensure complete player anonymity. No names are shown during any match and in-game communication is restricted. Also, during play, all character models are randomly generated. You can select your own personal character model that can be seen on your screen, but this is not what other people see. All of the opponent player models are deliberately picked at random after each death.

What information can other players see?
The only place your display name can be seen is on the www.kwari.com Leaderboards and forums. This display name is separate to your username. We strongly advise that you do not give your username to anyone else. If you would prefer to be Anonymous, you can change this setting in Edit My Account when you login.

    Skill Matching
How does the Skill Matching system work?
Kwari includes a bespoke Skill Matching system designed to pitch players against others of similar ability. The rating of your skill is not purely based on your accuracy, or the number of kills you've gained, the rating is built up from many areas of the game. To that end it is not a rating of how good you are at first-person shooters, rather it is a rating of your competency at Kwari - it is entirely possible that you can increase your skill level without ever firing a shot! This system will not, however, punish long-term players. Your skill level will go down as well as up, to ensure that you are always matched at the right skill level.

What's to stop highly-skilled players taking my money?
Kwari employs a bespoke Skill Matching system to ensure players are matched at the right skill level. However, beyond this there are many other reasons why you don't need to fear other players skill. Kwari doesn't just reward those who are good at first-person shooters. You can win money just by shooting Crates (where the Jackpot Keys are found), or simply by being good at evading enemy fire when running with The Pill. Kwari cannot be compared to standard first-person shooters, money changes everything.

Will I be able to play with my friends?
At the moment we are not offering any team-based game modes. This is to protect player anonymity, that's not to say that this won't change at some point.

    Game Types
What are the different Game Types?
All of the matches follow the same naming convention:

[GAME DESCRIPTION] : [STAKE LEVEL] : [SPECIAL RULES] : [MINIMUM GAME BALANCE]

    • Game Description - A quick textual reference of the Game Type.
    • Stake Level - The value of each health point in the match.
    • Special Rules - Pickup values and special rules will be displayed here.
    • Minimum Game Balance - The amount you need to have in your Game Balance before joining.

Here are a few examples of games you may see in the Lobby:

    Rookie Stakes : 1c : Pickups 5c : [K$2]
    Rocket Rumble : 2c : Rockets only, Pickups 10c : [K$4]
    Pro Stakes : 50c : Pickups K$2.50 : [K$100]

Game Types are likely to change or be added to the existing play list.

Why is there no option to join specific matches?
Although there will only ever be one of each Game Type listed, there will be multiple matches running of each type at any one time on the Kwari servers. Specific games are deliberately not listed to protect player anonymity and to prevent players from joining together to form an alliance.
